Project Overview

SME News journalists participated in the “6th Journalists’ Dialogue and Solidarity Dinner 2024” on the afternoon of May 3, 2024 at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Center, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and His Excellency Dr. Pech Chanmon Hun Sen, organized by the Ministry of Information, with approximately 5,000 journalists in attendance.
At the ceremony, His Excellency Hun Sen said that the press is the fourth power, which, if used properly, is important for developing the country, maintaining peace and stability, and empowering the people to make decisions as well as the Royal Government to implement necessary measures more effectively. According to statistics from the Ministry of Information, Cambodia has approximately 10,000 journalists and 2,000 media organizations.
It is also worth noting that the celebration of the "6th Solidarity Dinner with Journalists 2024" coincides with the celebration of the 31st "World Press Freedom Day, May 3" under the theme "Press for the Earth: Journalism in the context of environmental crisis."
